Install dual batteries in your vehicle to increase endurance.

The Arctic Cat Prowler is an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) manufactured by the Arctic Cat company. The ATV has one lead-acid battery fitted as standard, but like many other Arctic Cat owners you may want to install an auxiliary or back-up battery to power accessory electrical items such as a winch. To increase battery endurance, install dual batteries wired in parallel as this doubles the time your battery lasts but maintains the same output voltage as the original battery.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the battery cover on the Arctic Cat Prowler. You find that there is plenty of space to install dual batteries.

    • 2

Place the battery you want to install in your Arctic Cat Prowler next to the original battery. Secure it using elasticized straps that have hooks on each end. Wrap the straps around the two batteries tightly and fasten them using the hooks on the ends.

    • 3

Put the clamp on the end of a battery cable onto the positive terminal of the battery you are installing. Tighten the clamp using a wrench. The positive terminal is labeled "Pos" or "+."

Connect the clamp on the opposite end of the battery cable to the positive terminal of the original battery. Use a wrench to tighten the clamp.

Put the clamp on the end of a second battery cable onto the negative terminal of the battery you are installing, then tighten using a wrench. The negative terminal is labeled "Neg" or "-." Connect the clamp on the opposite end of the second battery cable to the negative terminal of the original battery in your Arctic Cat Prowler and tighten the clamp using a wrench.
