How to Wire Marine Speakers
Wiring a marine speaker correctly allows you to enjoy music on your boat without fear of a short circuit. Installing marine speakers is very similar to home speaker installation with the exception that you must protect the connections from saltwater. Turn off the amplifier.

Connect one end of the speaker wire to the positive lead on the amplifier and the other end to the positive lead of the first speaker. Secure the wire in place with the screwdriver. Cut the wire, and strip about one inch off the end.

Connect another speaker wire to the negative lead on speaker one to the positive lead on speaker two.

Connect a wire from the negative lead on speaker two to the negative lead on the amplifier.

Cover the leads of the amplifier and the speakers with wire lubricant, which protects the leads from water and short circuiting the speakers.

Turn on the amplifier and test the system. Re-secure wires if no sound is heard.
