How to Make Wood Art Pictures

Wood art pictures are meant to be creative and individualistic.

Things You'll Need

• Wooden plank
• Sandpaper
• Acrylic paint
• Paintbrushes
• 2 tacks
• Hammer
• Twine

Instructions

1. Sand a piece of wood to remove rough spots or splinters. Use small, circular motions to make the board as smooth as you prefer for your art project.

2. Paint the surface of the wood using a single color of acrylic paint. Let the paint dry.

3. Paint the main picture onto the prepared wood using acrylic paints. For example, you can paint a Western scene, a picture of a flower or a portrait of someone you know. Let the paint dry. Be as creative as you can be, using the artistic style you prefer.

4. Hammer two tacks onto the back of the board, placing the tacks near the top edge.

5. Cut a piece fo twine to measure the length of the wood board.

6. Tie the ends of the twine onto the tacks. You can use the twine to hang up your wooden art picture.
