1
Hang up your microwave. A microwave that is mounted underneath a cupboard, for example, will create space beneath it for storing appliances and other items.
-
2
Add a small center island. Instead of having a kitchen table in your small kitchen, add a center island with a few stools. Your family can still gather for breakfast, but you will have some much-needed storage space within the island.

3
Add decorative canisters along the edge of the counter or on top of the fridge. Store things inside the canisters, such as flour, sugar or other items, giving your more storage space on your counter tops.
-
4
Hang up your pans and coffee mugs. These types of items can easily be hung on pegs in your small kitchen. This frees up space in the cupboard and makes them easier to access.
-
5
Use cabinet inserts. These inserts are placed inside your cabinets, creating an extra shelf for additional storage.
-
6
Put another shelf in your small kitchen. If your small kitchen doesn't offer enough cupboard space, you can always tuck a shelf into the corner for added storage.
