Vacuum Cleaner Plug Isn't Working
Most vacuum cleaners come with attached power cables. The plug on the end of the cable is inserted into a power outlet in your wall, allowing the vacuum to use the electricity it needs to power itself. If your vacuum cleaner plug isn't working, this could be a sign of a problem with the vacuum. On the other hand, it could also be a sign of a problem with the specific wall outlet you are attempting to use. Does this Spark an idea?

Use a different wall outlet in your home. The wall outlets in the various rooms of your home are tied to fuses in your home's central fuse box. If you've blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker, this could cause the specific wall outlet to lose power. Taking the vacuum to another room in your home and plugging it in will determine if the problem is with the vacuum or with the wall outlet.

2
Examine the metal prongs on the plug on the end of the vacuum cleaner power cable. These prongs must be perpendicular to the plastic portion of the plug at all times. If these metal prongs have become bent, it could cause them to fit improperly into the wall outlet. If possible, gently bend the plugs back into place using your fingers and use the vacuum again.

Find out how much voltage your vacuum cleaner needs to operate. This information will be in the technical specifications portion of the vacuum cleaner's original manual. If the voltage required by the vacuum isn't being met by the wall outlet you're plugging it into, the vacuum cleaner won't work. If you're plugging your vacuum cleaner into an extension cable or surge protector that isn't meeting its required voltage, the vacuum cleaner won't work.
