How to Type in Spanish With Rosetta Stone

Spanish text has several accent marks that American-formatted keyboards do not.

The Rosetta Stone software is an effective tool for language learning for many people because it uses immersion techniques instead of memorization. This allows for the closest resemblance to being in a native language environment. The software itself can be confusing for some people because it is unclear whether you should be using your own physical keyboard or using your mouse or trackpad to click on the on-screen virtual keyboard.

Instructions

1. Decide on the correct answer that you want to type by listening to the aural cues.

2. Use your mouse to click on the virtual keys on the on-screen keyboard. This keyboard is marked and formatted like a Spanish-language keyboard would be, so it's easy to know what you are typing, but it can be slow and a bit awkward since you must use the mouse.

3. Compare in your mind the letters on your physical keyboard and the on-screen one if you do not want to use your mouse. The arrangement should be the same, except for the special character keys to the right of the "P" and "L" keys.

4. Click the "Enter" key to check your score once you have finished typing.

Tips & Warnings

• You must use the accented marks to get the correct answer. Do not use the letters without the accent marks.
