How to Remove the Front Hubcap From a Cub Cadet 1045

Clean off the hub cap and the area where it fits over the center of the wheel with a rag. This helps you to see the seam between the hub cap and the wheel.

Slide a small flat-head screwdriver between the hub cap and wheel. Slowly twist the screwdriver handle to begin prying off the cap. Once you pry one side of the hub cap away from the wheel, remove the screwdriver.

Insert the screwdriver between the hub cap and wheel on the opposite side of the cap. Twist the screwdriver handle and pry the hub cap completely away from the wheel.

Tips & Warnings
Do not attempt to pop off the hub cap on only one side of the cap. Damaging the inner ridges of the hub cap requires a replacement.
Reinstall the hub cap after making your repairs. The hub cap protects the cotter pin.
