How to Clean Drain Filters on a Kenmore Elite Dishwasher

Kenmore Elite dishwashers come in 23 different varieties and include features like EnergyStar ratings and 360 Powerwash. At the bottom of the dishwasher is a drain filter that allows water to drain out of the dishwasher. The filter also traps any food debris that was on the dishes. It the filter is clogged, the Kenmore Elite won't drain as well as it should, so you should clean the filter every month at least.

Instructions

1. Open the Kenmore Elite dishwasher and pull out the bottom rack.

2. Reach into the bottom of the dishwasher and lift up the drain filter. A mesh or slotted cover should cover it. Lift the lid.

3. Pull out any food stuck in the filter and wipe it down with a damp cloth. Place the lid back on the filter and close your Kenmore Elite dishwasher.
