How to Recycle Alkaline Batteries in South Carolina
Over three billion batteries are thrown away each year in America, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Simply throwing batteries away places a strain on landfills and allows heavy metals to contaminate the environment. The cells of alkaline batteries are denser than other types of battery cells making them capable of storing a greater amount of energy. Recycle damaged or corroded batteries, or ones that no longer contain a charge. Recycling batteries protects the environment from toxic substances and reuses battery materials. Many organizations in South Carolina accept used batteries for recycling.

This prevents any untoward effects caused by the mixing of any chemicals that leak from the batteries. Place one battery in each bag and pack the bags into the provided box. Drop the filled box off at any FedEx location where it will be shipped to the recycling facility. The price of shipping is included with your initial purchase price.
