How to Change the Time on a Cavalier Clock

Save

Changing the time on a car clock can be surprisingly confusing. Due to a desire to minimize buttons, there is rarely a "Change time" button. The Chevy Cavalier presents a standard case. Simply looking at the clock, you'd be hard-pressed to figure out how to change it. Once you know the system, however, changing the clock is actually quite simple.

  • Insert your key into the ignition, and slowly turn it to "Acc" or "On." Do not turn it all the way (as if you were actually starting the engine.)

  • Hold down the "MIN" button on your Cavalier clock for several seconds. Let go when the display starts flashing.

  • Hit the "HOUR" button repeatedly until you reach the correct hour. Do not worry about AM or PM, as Cavalier clocks run on a basic 12-hour cycle.

  • Hit the "MIN" button repeatedly until you reach the correct minute.

  • Hold down the "MIN" button for several more seconds. Let go when the display stops flashing. The time is now set. You can now turn off the car or start it normally.
