How to Arrange Your Study Table
Creating a space for studying is the first step to establishing a healthy study routine. Ensure your study time is uninterrupted by organizing your table so everything is within arm's reach. Before you start your next study session, dedicate some time to crafting the perfect place for your cram sessions.

1
Use an old coffee mug to hold pens. Place a writing utensil holder at the top of the table or desk. Use a holder specifically designed for pens, or instead simply an old coffee mug or heavy glass cup that is unlikely to topple over under the weight of some utensils. Fill the cup with several pencils, pens and highlighters to ensure that you aren't looking for these study-time necessities while you should be hitting the books.
-
2
Use office trays to hold folders and papers. Arrange folders or papers in trays. Place office trays off to the side of your desk and use them to house your graded papers, notes or other study-time-necessary papers in an orderly fashion.

3
Use bookends to hold up books on your desk. Place books on a hutch or against the back of your table or desk and use bookends to hold them up. If you have a bookshelf atop your table, place any books you may need on this shelf prior to starting studying, including course texts and supplementary texts along with a dictionary and thesaurus to look up challenging words.
-
4
Place a lamp on your desk. Arrange a light to illuminate your study space. Place a study lamp directly on your table and adjust it so that it casts light on the center of the desk, where you will likely have your open studying materials. If your desk space is too small to accommodate a light, set a floor lamp next to the desk to allow for the necessary illumination.
-
5
Organize any electric or computer cords. If you have a large number of cords, bundle them and wrap them with cord wraps or twine to keep them clustered together and untangled.
