How to Start a Sand Filter Pump
Sand filters filter your swimming pool water through sand in the filter unit in order to remove impurities (such as dirt, debris and hair) from the water before it is returned to the pool. Sand filters capture debris between 20 and 100 microns large. They are easy to maintain and use since most sand filters only have to be completely changed every 10 years. While the pool pump is connected to your filter, it is a separate part of pool equipment. In order for the water to be filtered through the sand filter, you must turn the pool pump on.
