How to Troubleshoot the Visonik V2318 Amplifier
The Visonik V2318 is a power amplifier used in mobile stereo installations. It is primarily used to power subwoofers, as its high power output is too much for standard interior speakers. Problems with the amplifier could come from a number of sources, such as incorrect installation or loose wiring. Basic troubleshooting can be done by the owner, but more complicated problems require a specialized technician.

1
Replace the fuse. If the amplifier's power light is not lighting up, the fuse could be the problem. The fuse is located near the front of the amplifier where the power terminals are. Replace the fuse with the exact model currently being used. The old fuse will indicate the model number on it. Fuses are inexpensive and readily available at all mobile electronic stores.

2
Check the wiring on the amplifier. Look at all the connections on the amplifier. Check the power (+/-) wires, speaker wires, remote lead and RCA connection. Ensure that all the connections are solid and none have become loose. A loose connection could result in a poor, crackling signal or even power going on and off.

Check the wiring and components that connect to the amplifier. Ensure the power connections on the battery are solid, as well as the connections to the head unit and speakers. Sometimes the problem may not be with the amplifier at all. Also ensure the speakers are not damaged or broken.

Hit the amplifier reset button, a small red button on the front of the amplifier near the power terminals. This will reset the amplifier to factory default settings.
