Directions for Lava in Lava Lamps
The free-flowing lava in a lava lamp is actually a mixture consisting mainly of candle wax that softens from the heat of a light bulb found at the base of the lamp. The heat causes the wax blobs to rise to the top while gravity forces them to fall as they begin to cool. You can make this material at home with many household ingredients, then use the blobs of lava to design your very own lava lamp.
