The Sony KDF-46E2000 is an LCD high-definition projection television with a 46-inch screen. The projector uses a high-intensity specialty lamp for illuminating the screen. The lamp fits into a socket accessible through a back panel in the TV cabinet. When the lamp eventually burns out or weakens to the point the picture begins to dim, you can save money on a service call by replacing the part yourself. In the instruction manual for this television, Sony recommends replacing the lamp only with Sony part number XL-2400, warning that substituting any other lamp may damage the set. Does this Spark an idea?
