How to Teach Toddlers to Read and Do Sign Language
Sign language allows people to communicate without the use of words. This represents a way to communicate with people who cannot hear or cannot speak. Teaching your toddler sign language will allow them to communicate with a much greater diversity of people and strengthen their worldview. You can easily teach a toddler sign language since their overall capacity to learn language will be the highest at that young age.

1
Model the signs for your child. As a visual learner, your child will be able to understand the signs better when you do them rather than simply looking at a picture.
-
2
Tell the child what sign goes with what word. Your child will begin to understand signs for the actual meaning they create.

3
Test your child. Ask the child to repeat back to you the meaning of a word when you do the sign. Alternatively, have him sign a word that you select. Once he gets better at this, you can start to have conversations with the toddler in sign language.
