How to Clean Pots with Cream of Tartar

Cream of tartar, also known as potassium bitartrate, is mainly known as an important ingredient for baking. However, cream of tartar can also be used for cleaning regular household items such as pots and pans. The acidic levels in cream of tartar make it a useful agent for stain removal and cleaning.   • Vinegar

      Fill a pot with 1 qt. of water and bring to a boil.

      Mix together 1/2 cup of vinegar and 2 tbsp. of cream of tartar in a bowl.

      Add the cream of tartar and vinegar mixture to the boiling water, and stir the solution through the water with a wooden spoon.

      Boil the contents for approximately ten minutes.

      Remove the pot from the heat, and carefully drain the cream of tartar solution into a nearby sink.

      Scrub the insides of the pot with a scrub brush to thoroughly clean it, while wearing oven mitts.

      Dry the pot with a dish towel.
