How to Make School Project Posters Look Good

Posters are an ideal way to share new information with a large group of people. Visuals can transmit a concept quickly and concisely while also adding some pizzazz to your overall school presentation. A well-organized poster can aid the flow of a presentation by reminding you of key project points. • Poster board, preferably in a neutral color
• Ruler
• Letter stencils
• Pencil
• Markers
• Crepe streamers
• Craft glue
• Glitter glue

Instructions

1. Add color to the background of the poster board by attaching various sizes of bright construction paper to the poster's base with some craft glue. You could also use gift wrap, comics, old photographs or a map for this.

2. Use stencils to make uniform letters. Uniform letters on a poster make the project stand out. Stencils also make it much easier to make straight lines and centered letters.

3. Choose marker colors that complement each other. Using just a few colors that complement each other will make a streamlined and focused poster. Use either contrasting colors, such as teal and orange, or use colors in the same family, such as light blue and dark blue. Colors can express different emotions or ideas -- for example, red represents excitement and blue represents calm, tranquil emotions.

4. Add a border with streamers or satin ribbon for a little zest. Simply cut pieces of streamer, ribbon or lace that match the height and width measurements of the poster board. Attach these using small dots of craft glue at each corner.

5. Add glitter, sequins and stickers to the poster for extra appeal. Glitter glue is ideal for outlining letters or making borders around pictures. Make sure to draw clean, straight lines with the glitter glue. Stickers and sequins can also be used to decorate poster corners or around letters and visuals.
