A Dect 6.0 telephone digitally sends and receives calls using a base station and one or more cordless handsets. After obtaining your Dect 6.0 telephone, you might have questions about how to prepare it and use it. You will need to have your handset set up and able to receive information from the base station before relying on the phone for important calls.

  • Plug the power cord into the back of the telephone base station and plug the pronged end into a wall or strip outlet. Plug one end of the telephone cord into the bottom of the handset and the other into the left side of the base station. Place the handset into the base station cradle and raise the two antennas on either side of the unit. Plug the supplied telephone line cord into the telephone line jack in the wall. Plug the other end into the telephone line "In" jack on the back of the telephone base station.

  • Press the "Menu" button on the base station as a first step to registering your cordless handset with the base station. Use the soft buttons near the display to select "Registration" and push "Enter." Push "Enter" again, choose "Registration HS" then place the handset in its cradle. You will see the message "Handset Registering" on the screen. Allow a minute or two to pass before you hear a beep to let you know the handset is registered with the base station and can now be used.

  • Pick up the handset from the cradle and press "Flash" or press the "Speaker" button to begin making a call. A dial tone will sound. Push the 10-digit phone number in to the unit using the numbered keypad (located at the bottom of the handset). Place the handset back onto the cradle, push the "Clear" button or push the "Speaker" button to end the call.

  • Push the "Flash" button (located on the left side of the handset) to place a current call on hold and switch over to an incoming call. After conversing with the second caller, push "Flash" again to switch back over to the first call.

  • Push the "Redial" button to redial one of the last numbers utilized. A list will display with the most recent number. Push the up or down navigation button to scroll through the last 10 numbers. When you reach the number you wish to redial, push the "Speaker" button or push "Flash." The number will be dialed.

  • Push the volume up or down buttons on the handset to adjust the volume. Lower or raise the volume while you're using the phone by pushing the buttons during the call. Push the volume keys while you're not on a call to control the ringer volume.
