How to Make a Camp Shower With a Pump

Save

Packing the car and heading out for a weekend camping trip is, for many, the perfect weekend escape. The concept of leaving city life and work worries behind is enough of a reason to forgo the luxuries of home. While a number of trailers have built-in shower, tents certainly do not. Having a simple, easy-to-install-and-use pump shower system allows you to bring a little luxury on your camping trip.

Things You'll Need

  • Liquid pump container
  • 6 to 8 feet of dark vinyl tubing
  • Two hose clamps
  • Flat black spray paint
  • Paint a liquid pump container with flat black paint and allow it to dry overnight.

  • Detach the existing hose from the liquid pump container and replace it with vinyl tubing. Install and tighten a hose clamp around the vinyl tubing to keep it attached to the pump container.

  • Re-attach the former liquid pump hose to the vinyl tubing with a hose clamp. These hoses have a small wand on them with a spray nozzle and handle assembly. You still need the wand and nozzle to control the flow of water.

  • Fill the liquid pump container with water and let it sit in the sun for an entire day. At the end of the day, before the water cools down, pump the handle located in the top of the container to charge the system and you can have a shower with hot water.
