How to Network with a ScanSnap S1500


ScanSnap S1500 is a scanner that you can network with your computer using a USB cable (provided with the scanner). You may use this scanner to scan documents, images and much more. ScanSnap is designed for business/enterprise environments where you need to scan multiple documents at a time. Note that you will need administrative rights to install the software required to network and connect ScanSnap.

  • Insert the ScanSnap installation CD into your CD/DVD-ROM drive. A setup menu will appear.

  • Choose the option that says "Install Products." Click "Next" to continue.

  • Select a destination where you wish to install the ScanSnaps application. Click "Next" to continue."

  • Choose "I accept" after you complete reading the license agreement. Click "Next" and click "Finish" when prompted.

  • Power up the ScanSnap scanner by plugging it in to a power source.

  • Use the provided USB cable to network your scanner. Plug one end of the cable into the "USB" port on the back of ScanSnap. Plug the other end to one of the open ports on your computer. Wait till Windows detects the device. Windows may install certain drivers on your computer (depending on your OS version).

  • Wait till you see a confirmation message at the notification area on your toolbar (bottom right corner of your computer screen).
