When you use bleach to remove spots and staining from your clothing, you can often be left with clothing that is discolored or covered in holes. Instead of using harsh bleach on your fabrics, you can use OxiClean, which removes staining and spots without breaking down the fibers of the fabrics. In order to use OxiClean with your laundry detergent properly, it is important to follow a few guidelines that will ensure the OxiClean is added into the washing machine at the right time.
Things You'll Need
- Laundry detergent
- Clothing or linens
Fill your washing machine with water. Select hot water for white clothing, and cold water for colored clothing.
Add 1/2 scoop of your laundry detergent into the water as the machine fills.
Add 1 scoop of OxiClean into the water as it fills. The detergent and OxiClean will mix as the water fills the machine.
Place your soiled clothing into the water. Fill the machine halfway full of clothing.
Wash the clothing on a regular cycle, then dry the clothing as usual in a clothes dryer. The staining on the soiled clothing will be lifted by the OxiClean in the washing machine.
