How to Add Games to MeBoy

MeBoy is a Gameboy and Gameboy Color emulator, which means that it's a computer program designed to play electronic copies of Gameboy games. Meboy specifically can play these games on your smart phone. Electronic versions of Gameboy games are referred to as "ROMs." To play Gameboy ROMs on your phone using Meboy, you need to properly prepare them first.

  • Download and install Java on your computer, at least version 1.5. (See Resources.)

  • Download MeboyBuilder. (See Resources.)

  • Double-click the file to run it. Click "Add Game," and select your ROM file to add the game.

  • Click "Create Meboy.jar." Right-click the file you created and select "Copy."

  • Connect your phone to your computer with the USB cord for the phone. Click "Open" when the dialog screen opens and click "OK." Right-click your phone's folder and select "Paste" to add the Meboy game to your phone.

Tips & Warnings

  • It can be illegal to download Gameboy ROMs, depending on the current laws in your country, especially if you didn't create them from your own games as a backup.
