1
Verify that the cooler is plugged into a working socket if the machine does not turn on. Check the thermostat dial, which is located on the back left side of the machine. If the dial is set to zero, the machine will not chill the wine. Adjust the dial.
-
2
Ensure the cooler is sitting right with a level. An unleveled cooler may make noises and vibrations during operation. Also, the door to the cooler may not shut properly, causing the cooler to turn on and off more often than needed.

3
Monitor the cooler when it turns on and off frequently. The cooler may be running more often due to the door not sealing properly or opening and closing frequently, a full wine cooler, a too-low thermostat dial setting or a warmer than normal room.
-
4
Defrost the cooler as necessary. The JC-46 has auto defrost features that should take care of any buildup of frost through its normal cycling of on and off. If the buildup becomes severe, take the wine out of the cooler and unplug the machine. Leave the door to the cooler open and let the machine defrost naturally. Wipe down the cooler with a cloth to remove excess moisture. Do not use boiling water to defrost the cooler. The water may damage the plastic parts within the cooler.

5
Clean the unit as regular maintenance. Remove all the bottles of wine from the cooler and unplug the unit. Clean the walls of the cooler with a mixture of water and baking soda and the shelving with water and a mild detergent. Clean the magnetic gasket located at the top of the door to make sure that the door seals properly when closed.
