How to Clean a Wire Hair Brush

Hair brushes are important for maintenance and styling of the hair. Using clean tools on the hair is important for keeping the hair clean longer. Clean hair brushes also work better. There are many different types of hair brushes. Wire hair brushes are just one kind, and made of metal, they need to be cleaned in the right manner. Clean the brush at least once a week.   • Tissue or paper towel
  • Shampoo
  • Cotton swab
  • Towel

Instructions

    • 1

      Remove any hair embedded in the wire brushes bristles. Use you hands or a tissue or paper towel. Dispose of the hair in a garbage can.

      Place the wire bristles under warm, running water by turning it on its side. Do not submerge the brush into water or get the body of the hair brush wet. The water can get trapped in the brush and lead to rusting.

      Pour a small amount of shampoo on the bristles. Rub the shampoo over the bristles with your fingers. For dirty parts near the roots of the bristles, use a cotton swab to clean these small areas.

      Rinse the bristle under warm running water. Make certain all traces of shampoo are gone.

      Place the wire hair brush on a towel to dry naturally.
