      Pour roughly a ¼ cup baking soda into the drain opening. Use your fingers to force the baking soda into the drain, if obscured by a cover.

      Pour roughly a ¼ cup vinegar into the drain opening. The vinegar will immediately begin to react with the baking soda, fizzing up and out of the drain. Cover the drain open so that the reaction goes down the drain, rather than up and out. Wait 15 minutes.

      Pour a gallon of boiling water into the drain opening. Pour the water slowly and steady. The baking soda and vinegar solution, combined with the hot water should dislodge the clog.
