How to Create a Bill of Sale Form
A bill of sale form is a contract that provides information about the conditions and details of a particular sale. Most bill of sales are used for automobile sales and require certain pieces of information in order to be effective and useful. You can create a bill of sale on any software application that allows you to create fields to input information, including the seller's name, the buyer's name, the amount of the sale and an identifying number attached to the item being sold, such as an address or a vehicle identification number.

1
Identify a computer application, such as MS Word, to create the bill of sale form. You can also write or type out the bill of sale; however, it will be more professional and easier to duplicate if you can create it through a software application.

2
Gather the right information. The bill of sale must contain certain information, such as the seller's name, the buyer's name, the date of the transaction and a brief description of the item or service being sold. You will also need to obtain the exact amount of the sale and the form of payment used.

3
Include a section for warranty information. This includes any responsibility the seller has to compensate the buyer if the good or service is not working or does not perform properly. If you include warranty information, be sure to include a specific time period during which the warranty is good.
-
4
Provide a description of the transaction and how it is taking place. This is a short summary of the actual transactions and is primarily used as a way to put words to the details of the document. For instance, if you are selling a car you might say, "The car was sold on March 6th at 10 p.m. for $6,000 in cash. All of the cash is received and the buyer is taking possession of the car immediately."

5
Sign the bill of sale. Have all parties to sign and date the bill of sale. Also, have the buyer date all sheets of the bill of sale if it is longer than one page.
