How to Decorate With Fall Leaves
When the weather turns colder, the leaves on deciduous trees begin to show their colors, revealing bright shades of red, orange, yellow and purple. One way to usher in the autumn season is to put up a few decorations featuring these colorful leaves in all their splendor. For example, you can press colorful leaves to flatten them, then place the pressed leaves into frames to hang up on your walls. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Heavy hardback book
- Picture frame
- Card stock
- Scissors
- Foam florist wreath
- Hot glue gun
- Glue stick
- Florist wire
- Essential oil
- Wooden dish
- Spray bottle

Fall Leaf Picture

Place the leaves in a heavy hardback book. Close the book, and allow it to remain closed for about one week. This will allow the leaves to dry out flat.

Take the back off of a picture frame, and place the flattened leaves onto the frame's glass. Arrange the leaves in a pleasing design.

Place the back on the frame, and hang up the fall-themed picture on your wall to decorate for the holidays.
Fall Leaf Wreath

Insert a glue stick into a hot glue gun, and plug the gun into an outlet to heat up for a few minutes.

Squeeze a dollop of hot glue onto a foam florist ring, and press the ends of two to three dried fall leaves onto the glue. Allow the glue to cool for a couple of minutes.

Continue gluing leaves around the front and sides of the wreath until it is completely filled. Let the glue cool for a couple of minutes.

Wrap a 12-inch piece of florist wire around the foam ring, then twist it into a loop for hanging.
Fall Leaf Potpourri

Place 15 to 20 dried fall leaves into a decorative wooden dish.

Fill a spray bottle with essential oil, such as orange or clove oil.

Spritz the leaves slightly with the essential oil, and allow the leaves to dry. Place the scented potpourri leaves on a table or desk to add aroma to the room.
