How to Learn English With a Guide
There are several ways to learn English with a guide, depending on your circumstances. Those who are younger or can afford to take a career break, or even those who wish to emigrate to an English speaking country, can pursue various options, from lessons to becoming an au pair. Those who do not want to travel or cannot devote much time might consider an online guide. Whatever the level of your English or time commitment, there are suitable options.

1
Arrange to stay with an English speaking family. Many families in countries such as the U.S. and UK take in au pairs and will become a tutor and guide to them in exchange for household tasks such as babysitting. Companies such as Smart Au Pairs (see Resources) put candidates in touch with families.

2
Sign up for English classes. There are a huge variety of English classes available, both at night and during the day. Often these will be specifically designed for immigrants.

Meet up with a tutor for one-on-one lessons. A private tutor can sound expensive but sometimes people are willing to do an exchange. Look on websites such as Craigslist (see Resources) to find English speaking people in your area who may be willing to teach you English in exchange for lessons in your native language.

Sign up to a website such as My Language Exchange (see Resources). Here you can hook up with an online guide who will teach you English. This will often take the form of an exchange, where you trade lessons in your language for lessons in English.
