How to Mount Water Pipes to Concrete Blocks
It is common to run water pipes along a foundation. Since most foundations are made of concrete blocks, you must attach your pipes to the concrete block to prevent the pipes from hitting the wall when pressurized. Drilling into concrete block takes a little more work than drilling into a wooden floor joist but with attention to detail, you can cleanly fasten your water pipes to your concrete blocks. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Spread each pipe clamp apart with your fingers. Slide them over the pipe and close the clamps by pressing on them. Position each clamp approximately 24 inches apart from each other.
-
2
Place a marker into the single mounting hole on each clamp and place a mark on the concrete block wall. Slide each clamp out of the way so you can easily drill the hole.

3
Secure a 3/16-inch carbide drill bit into your hammer drill. Measure from the tip of your drill bit back two inches and wrap a piece of tape around the drill bit. This acts as a depth guide for your bit.
-
4
Drill out each hole you marked in the wall with your hammer drill. Only drill as deep as the tape on the drill bit.
-
5
Suck the debris out of each hole with a vacuum cleaner.
-
6
Slide each bracket back into place and secure the bracket to the wall with a ¼-inch Tapcon. Use a ratchet to tighten the Tapcon to prevent stripping the screw in the wall.
