The Steelcase 9000 Won't Close

The Steelcase 9000 is a workstation equipment collection that can be customized to suit the individual layout and needs of any office. Many of the pieces included in the Steelcase 9000 have draws, cupboards or other storage space included in their design that can be prevented from closing in some circumstances. You can get your Steelcase 9000 workstation to close again by finding and removing the cause of the problem.

Instructions

1. Open the cupboard, draw or other part of the workstation that will not close. Make sure nothing inside is stopping the door from closing. Slowly close the door and keep an eye out for anything hitting or blocking the cupboard door, draw or roll-top section. If the problem component is a draw, check to make sure nothing has fallen down the back, holding the draw open.

2. Twist the key in the lock until the bolt retracts. Cupboards, draws or roll-top sections in the Steelcase 9000 that are locked while still open will be blocked from closing by the bolt. Turning the key will retract the lock and allow the component to close.

3. Tighten any loose bolts on hinges or rollers with a screwdriver. Cupboard hinges and draw rollers will not work properly unless they are properly attached. A loose bolt can cause a cupboard door to become misaligned and unable to close or a drawer to become stuck.
