Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the planting area by digging it up to a depth of 10 inches. Add 3 inches of compost or well-rotted manure, and mix it in with the existing soil. If drainage is poor, add 3 inches of coarse sand. Rake the bed until it is smooth.

    • 2

Pour the fungicide into a container that is deep enough to cover the bulbs.

    • 3

Dip the Lollipop bulbs into the fungicide for 20 seconds. Set them on a paper towel until all of them have been dipped.

    • 4

Plant the Lollipop Asiatic lily bulbs 8 inches deep and 6 inches apart.

    • 5

Water the bulbs until the top 10 inches of soil is moist. The bulbs don't require a lot of water until the foliage reaches 3 inches tall, but don't allow the soil to completely dry out. Keep it slightly moist at all times.

    • 6

Cover the planting area with 3 inches of mulch, and rake it back at the first sign of growth in late spring.

    • 7

Fertilize the lilies with 5-10-10 fertilizer when the foliage reaches 3 inches tall. Apply the fertilizer at the rate suggested on the package for flowering plants.
