Instructions

  1. Floral Barrette or Hair Clip

    • 1

Cut the stems of three silk flowers with wire cutters so that each stem is approximately 2 inches long. Repeat this step with six small pieces of baby's breath and three silk leaves.

    • 2

Pinch together the stems of one silk flower, two pieces of baby's breath and one silk leaf. Wrap the stems together with floral tape. Repeat this step for the remaining pieces.

    • 3

Place one of the wrapped bundles on a flat surface and place the next bundle above the first so that the stem of the second bundle covers approximately ½ inch of the stem of the first bundle. Wrap the ½-inch piece of stem with the top of the first stem in floral tape.

    • 4

Align the third bundle above the second so that ½ inch of the third bundle overlaps the top of the stem of the second bundle and wrap the stems together in floral tape.

    • 5

Apply a line of glue along the top of the metal barrette or clip using a hot glue gun and press the joined bundles along the length of the clip. Press firmly for 30 seconds and then allow the glue to dry for 30 minutes.

    • 6

Cut two or three 1-inch long pieces of floral wire. Wrap one of the pieces around one of the stems and around the top of the barrette. Twist the ends of the floral wire together at the underside of the top piece of the barrette. Repeat this step with the remaining one or two pieces of floral wire to give the floral bundles a little bit of extra support on the clip.

    Floral Hair Wreath

    • 7

Measure the circumference of the bride's head. Wrap the sewing tape measure around her head beginning at the top center of the forehead to approximately 1 inch above the ears and around to the top center of the forehead again.

    • 8

Cut a piece of floral wire to a length equivalent to the circumference measurement plus 1 inch and wrap the floral wire in floral tape.

    • 9

Make a floral bundle as you did to make the barrette using one silk flower, two pieces of baby's breath and one silk leaf and wrap the stems together in floral tape. Place the bundle approximately ½ inch away from one end of the floral wire and secure the bundle to the wire by wrapping floral tape around the stem and wire.

    • 10

Make another bundle and attach it to the floral wire, overlapping the stem of the first bundle.

    • 11

Repeat the above step until you reach ½ inch from the other end of the floral wire. Bend the flower-covered wire into a circle and twist the ends of the floral wire together tightly for a completed floral wreath.
