How to Take a Perfect School Picture
School pictures are the photos your parents send to relatives and friends and that your school prints in a yearbook. Since these pictures can come back to haunt you years later, you want them to look as good and natural as possible. Try clothing, makeup and hairstyles ahead of time to find a look that works. Take extra time the day of the picture session to look your best and be prepared with emergency supplies for last-minute mishaps. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Choose attractive, comfortable clothing that fits well. Wear solid colors that enhance your complexion rather than patterns that clash with the background and detract from your face. Avoid wearing colors similar to your skin tone that will detract from your face. Choose long-sleeved shirts and dresses so your bare arms don't draw attention away from your face.

2
Get haircuts and experiment with new hairstyles and colors at least two weeks before picture day. This gives you time to grow out or fix cuts and styles that don't work.

Take an extra outfit with you in case of an unexpected mishap. Take along makeup, a brush and comb for touch-ups. Go to the restroom right before pictures to check your reflection in the mirror and make last-minute fixes.

Look at a spot just above the camera lens to avoid squinting. Stand up straight with your shoulders back, take a deep breath, think of something amusing and smile as you exhale. This should give you a natural, relaxed appearance.
