The Cutting Instructions for Vinyl Crown Molding
Vinyl crown molding is a popular alternative to wooden crown molding because of its durability and extended life. Vinyl crown molding is designed to last for 30 years, and you can painted it to any color using a high-quality latex paint. Rather than being nailed to the wall like wooden crown molding, vinyl crown molding is attached using a combination of spray adhesive, staples and joint compound. - Tape measure
- Pencil
- Safety glasses
- Miter saw with fine-tooth, crosscut blade

Measure the area to determine the length of the piece of vinyl crown molding needed.

Measure and mark the cut-spot on the molding.

Determine if you require inside cuts or outside cuts. You need an inside cut when wrapping around the outside of a corner and an outside cut when wrapping around the inside of a corner.

Set the miter saw to a 45 degree miter cut. Pull the handle at the bottom of the saw and rotate the saw to turn it on. The miter saw has a 45 degree marker on both the left and right sides. Set the miter saw to the 45 degree marker on the right if making a right-outside or left-inside cut. Set the miter saw to the 45 degree marker on the left if making a left-outside or right-inside cut.

Place the molding onto the miter saw table upside-down and backwards.

Hold the molding against the table and fence on the rear of the miter saw, with your fingers well away from the blade.

Squeeze the trigger on the miter saw and slowly lower the blade down and through the molding. Release the trigger when the molding is completely cut.
