How to Tow a Saturn Sky

The Saturn Sky is a two-seater convertible sports car. In times of car trouble, you may need to have your Saturn Sky towed to a dealership or mechanic for service. Because the Saturn Sky is a rear-wheel-drive car, you will a flatbed tow truck to transport the car and not a traditional tow truck. Towing the Sky is an easy procedure similar to how one would tow many other cars.

Instructions

    • 1

Align the rear of the flatbed tow truck so that the rear of the truck is approximately 5 feet away from the front of the Sky.

    • 2

Lower the bed of the tow truck so that it is angled against the ground and the car can be dragged up onto it.

    • 3

Loosen the winch on the flatbed tow truck and drag it to the tow hook located on the underside of the Sky, behind the front bumper, where you will attach the tow hook to the car.

    • 4

Tighten the winch so that the tow cable is taught, but not yet pulling the vehicle towards the bed on the truck.

    • 5

Disengage the Sky's parking brake and place the transmission into its neutral gear.

    • 6

Retract the winch on the tow truck so that the Sky begins to be dragged on to the flatbed. Keep tightening the winch until the car is fully seated on the flatbed.

    • 7

Secure the Sky to the flatbed using any securing chains or tow straps that the flatbed uses. Engage the Sky's parking brake and leave it in "park" or in gear (if a manual transmission) to ensure limited movement of the vehicle as it is transported.
