How to Eliminate SmitFraud

Removing SmitFraud improves your computer's security and performance.

SmitFraud is an annoying Trojan that secretly installs on your computer. It is packed with other adware and launches automatically once installed. Once installed, SmitFraud interferes with system files and the registry. The result is a sluggish computer and occasional freezes and crashes. SmitFraud also causes security breaches and leaves your computer vulnerable to attacks from additional malware. Remove this parasite immediately.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" menu. Type "OLEADM.DLL" (without quotes) in the search box. Right-click the file after Windows locates it and click "Delete." Search for and delete the following files as well:

   PSGUARDINSTALL.EXE

   WP.BMP

   UNINSTIU.EXE

2. Click the "Start" menu. Type "regedit" (without quotes) in the search box and click "Regedit" under "Programs" to launch the registry.

3. Click the plus symbol (+) next to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder to expand it. Expand "SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion," and then expand the "Uninstall" folder. Right-click "Internet update" and click "Delete."

4. Close all open programs and restart your computer.
