How to Print Reply Paid Envelopes thumbnail
Postage meters allow postage to be printed directly onto envelopes.

Postage-paid return, or reply, envelopes are typically enclosed in bulk mailings with surveys or requests for donations. Printing postage-paid envelopes requires a postage meter and a computer with a printer that has envelope settings. Postage meters print the postage directly onto the envelope.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill one envelope with the contents of the mailer. Place it on the postage meter's scale to determine how much the postage costs.

    • 2

Set the postage meter to the correct payment and envelope size. Insert the envelopes so the postage meter prints on the upper right-hand corner. The postage meter automatically keeps track of the postage due.

    • 3

Add the address to which the envelopes will return using a word processing program on the computer. For example, Microsoft Office has a dedicated envelope template where you input the address and it automatically is formatted for a printer.

    • 4

Set the printer for the envelope setting and insert the envelope stack into the intake drawer of the printer. The desired address is printed in the center of the envelope.
