How to Make Napkin Ring Holders With Wire
Wire napkin rings are versatile holders that work well on smooth napkin fabrics such as linen or cotton. You can create any shape you like when designing your own wire napkin ring holders and even change the shape for special occasions. The napkin color and design will show through the holder, while keeping the shape in which you fold the napkin such as a fleur-de-lis or a fan. Use the wire napkin ring holder as a simple wire silhouette on your napkins or add beads for more color and sparkle. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Use wire cutters to cut 20 inches of wire. Examine the ends of the wire to make sure that you have made clean cuts. If the wire is jagged, snip the ends again. If you are using colored wire, make sure that the color does not peel away from the wire underneath.
-
2
Wrap the wire around the dowel three times, spacing the wraps about 1/2 inch apart. Measure the distance between each wrap with a measuring tape and adjust them if necessary.

3
Bend each wire end loosely to the top of the dowel, making sure that the tips do not dig into the surface of the dowel. Slide the wire off from the dowel.
-
4
Thread a bead or crystal through each end, and use pliers to bend the wire over the bottom of each bead or crystal to prevent it from sliding off the ends.
-
5
Grasp the bead or crystal at the top of your holder with pliers, and rotate it inwards so that the wire wraps around it, forming a spiral with the bead or crystal at its center. Do the same for the bottom bead or crystal, wrapping it firmly to hold it in place. Adjust the spacing of the wraps and spirals if necessary.
