You can fix this problem by using the Windows File Checker. This tool will scan your computer and fix any out-of-date or corrupted system files, including DirectX registry files.

        Click the "Start" button and then click on the "All Programs" option from the menu.

        Click on the "Accessories" button and then right-click on the "Command Prompt" option from the menu.

        Choose the "Run as administrator" option from the menu and then enter your administrator username and password into the fields that appear.

        Press the "Enter" button and wait for the black box to appear. This is the command prompt.

        Type "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) into the command prompt and press the "Enter" key.

        Wait for the scan to complete. The command prompt will read "Scan Finished" when the scan has completed.

        Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
