How to Print to "Acrobat Distiller"
Adobe's Acrobat Distiller is software installed on the computer, but you can treat the program as if it is printer hardware. When you install the main Acrobat program, which creates and edits portable document format, or PDF, files, the Distiller is sometimes included with the installation files. And similar to the installation of device drivers when connecting a printer to a computer, the Distiller also installs a type of driver that shows up in printing options. Therefore, to print using the Acrobat Distiller, you need to change the printers -- but the output will be a PDF file.
