1
Take a hard look at your diet. Fatty foods, sugary sodas and high-calorie snacks all contribute to weight gain and make it difficult to change your body. Cut down on your caloric intake and start eating healthy foods, and you will find it much easier to get rid of flab.

Engage in aerobic exercise for 30 to 60 minutes at least three times a week. Aerobic exercises, such as running, cycling, dancing or swimming all burn calories and trim fat. If you cannot maintain this pace right at the beginning, start small. Walk around the block every night and work your way up from there.

Perform exercises that target your arms and chest to build and tone your underarm muscles. These include push-ups, pull-ups and weight training. Start with two sets of 10 push-ups and work your way up to longer sets and more repetitions.

Be consistent in your exercise schedule. One of the primary reasons that exercise and dieting does not work for everyone is people get lazy or start eating poorly again. Make a commitment to living a healthy lifestyle and stick to it. One way to help yourself stay on track is to designate certain days of the week as exercise days. When you know your schedule, it is easier to maintain good habits.
