How to Learn the Quran Easily
The Qur'an is the primary holy book in the religion of Islam. Muslims believe that it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by God via the angel Gabriel over a 20 year period from 610 C.E. to 632 C.E. in what is now Saudi Arabia. There are 114 "suras" or chapters in the Qur'an. The original language of the Qur'an is Arabic, and Qur'anic recitation is one of the primary rituals in the Islamic religion. Memorizing and reciting the Qur'an in its original Arabic is encouraged for all Muslims regardless of their native tongue.
Instructions

1
Arabic script should appear alongside the English text. Open the Qur'an to the page of the sura you wish to memorize. Make sure that the phonetic English transliteration is visible if you cannot read Arabic script.
-
2
Turn on your Dictaphone or tape recorder. If using a tape recorder, make sure that the blank cassette is in the recorder before turning it on. Also, make sure that the surrounding area is quiet.
-
-
3
Read the first line of the sura out loud and into the recording device. After you have recited the first line, record several seconds of silence. The length of silence should be about equal to the length of time it took to recite the first line of the sura plus a few extra seconds.
-
4
Repeat step 3 for as many lines as there are in the sura. When the sura is finished, stop the recording device and rewind your recording device to the beginning.
-
5
Press play on your recording device. When you hear each line of the sura played back, repeat it out loud to yourself. Do this after each line of the sura. When the sura is finished, stop and rewind the recording device.
-
6
Repeat step 5 until you have memorized the entire sura, line by line.
-
7
If you are trying to learn the entire Qur'an, select another sura to memorize, and follow steps 1 through 6. Repeat this process 113 times until you have memorized the entire Qur'an.
