How to Update a Ford FX SD Card

SD card's store up to 2 GB of data in a small size.

The Ford Freestyle FX is a crossover between SUVs and performance station wagons that features a Duratec V-6 engine and all-wheel-drive system. You can update the SD card that plugs into the FX's head unit with new music and navigation files right from your computer. SD cards are devices that store digital files in a compact size. All you need is an SD card reader slot or USB-to-SD card adapter.

Things You'll Need

• SD card reader slot or SD card adapter

Instructions

1. Insert the SD card into your computer's card reader slot. If you are using an SD card adapter, plug it into one of the USB ports on your computer and insert the SD card into the slot on the side of the adapter.

2. Wait a few moments for the card to be recognized by your computer.

3. Click the "Start" icon, and click "Computer."

4. Double-click the "SD Card" icon in the "Computer" window to open a folder associated with the SD card's memory.

5. Drag the new files you want to add to the SD card into the folder, and wait for the transfer to complete before ejecting the SD card from your computer.

6. Reinsert the card into the SD card slot on the Ford FX.
