How to Make an Earring & Necklace Holder
Storing your collection of earrings and necklaces in a drawer or even a jewelry box is problematic as the pieces of jewelry are easily tangled with one another. Once your jewelry collection turns itself into a big tangled ball it is hard to free a single accessory in a timely manner. Keep your earrings and necklaces organized and tangle-free in a decorative manner with your own homemade earring and necklace holders.

Earring Holder
-
1
Loosen the screw on the outer hoop of the embroidery hoop. Remove the inner hoop from inside the outer hoop.
-
2
Lay the inner hoop on your work surface. Draw a line of craft glue around the top edge of the inner hoop. Lay the fat quarter of fabric over the top of the hoop so the part of the fabric's design you want to appear on your earring holder is centered over the hoop and the right side of the fabric facing out.
-
-
3
Slide the outer hoop back on the inner hoop. Tighten the screw back down. Flip the whole thing over and pull the fabric all the way around the hoop so it is taut across the center of the hoop. Work quickly so you get all the way around the hoop before the craft glue begins to dry. Tighten the screw down more if it can be.
-
4
Let the craft glue dry for 30 minutes. Trim the fabric as close to the hoop as possible.
-
5
Place the embroidery hoop in a plate display stand with the right side of the fabric facing out. Push your earrings through the fabric and attach earring backs onto the posts if they have them, otherwise just pushing them through the fabric will hold them on the holder.

Paint the 4-by-12-inch canvas with acrylic paint. Let the first layer of paint dry completely before painting on another coat of paint if more than one coat is necessary for complete coverage. Let the second coat dry before moving on. Follow the manufacturer's directions for drying time.
-
7
Measure and mark an inch in from each end of the canvas with it laid horizontally on your work surface. Make marks with a pencil between the first two marks every inch along the length of the canvas and 2 inches down from the top edge of the canvas.
-
8
Sew a hook onto the canvas at each mark with needle and thread using a whipstitch. Hang the canvas on the wall with a nail and hammer. Dangle your necklaces from the hooks attached to the front of the canvas to keep them organized.
