Instructions

  1. Preparation for Use

    • 1

Place your coffee maker on a hard, flat surface like a counter top or table.

    • 2

Plug the coffee maker into a standard 120v outlet; keep the coffee maker's power turned off.

    • 3

Open the hinged water tank on the side of the coffee maker and fill it with cold, clean water, following the water gauge on the side of the machine.

    • 4

Run the coffee maker without putting coffee in the filter basket. This will help to clean out any dust or debris in the machine.

    • 5

Repeat the cleaning process once more with a full pot of cold, clean water.

    Brewing Coffee

    • 6

Place a coffee filter in the filter basket and add 2 tsp. ground coffee to the basket for each 6 oz. of cold, clean water added to the water tank.

    • 7

Close the coffee filter basket, making sure that the door is locked in place to avoid spilling water out of the machine during the brewing process.

    • 8

Press the "On" button on the front panel display once. The LED light should come on to indicate that the machine is working.

    • 9

Allow all of the coffee to drip into the pot. After the drip has stopped, allow two to three minutes for any remaining coffee to leave the filter basket.

    • 10

Transfer the coffee to cups or leave it in the pot to stay warm on the warming plate.

    • 11

Discard the coffee grounds in the filter basket after they have cooled.

    • 12

Turn the coffee pot off once you no longer want to heat the coffee or the pot is empty. Allow the carafe to cool and wash it with warm, soapy water.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not add more water to the coffee maker than the maximum fill level.

  • Gevalia does not recommend brewing less than four cups of coffee for maximum quality.

  • Never touch the glass carafe while it is on the warming plate. Doing so may result in minor to serious burns.
