How do I Level a General Electric GSL25JFPA Refrigerator? thumbnail
Fridges must be level for proper use.

General Electric makes a wide range of home appliances and electronics including refrigerators such as the GSL25JFPA which features two side-by-side doors that swing open. Since the surface floor that the fridge is standing on might not be perfectly level due to design or wear and tear, refrigerators have adjustable bottom wheel posts that allow the height to be adjusted. It is important that the fridge is level to prevent the doors from swinging open, items from falling over inside, or liquids from leaking out of the ice tray. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Open the doors of the refrigerator fully.

    • 2

Inspect the bottom section of the fridge on either side of the base grill running along the bottom front of the refrigerator. Locate the adjustment screw on each side.

    • 3

Place the socket wrench tip over the screw. Turn the screw clockwise to raise the height and counterclockwise to lower the height.

    • 4

      Repeat on the other hinge.

    • 5

Place a level on top of the fridge. The small air bubble should be centered between the two center lines on the level. Readjust the screws as needed to make the appliance level.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not try to tilt or tip the fridge because it can be top-heavy and fall over on you.
