How To Locate ExtUtils

ExtUtils is a software script that manages the extension library (/ext) directory of a Linux server. The script helps manage application extensions and is able to identify the program to which an extension belongs and enables you to manage versions of extensions for each application. Although ExtUtils is frequently installed in the "/bin" directory of a Linux computer, you can locate it easily using the "whereis" command.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into the Linux system using the root account, as only the root user is able to modify system extensions.

    • 2

Open the system terminal, typically located in the "Applications" or "Utilities" menu of most Linux distributions.

    • 3

Type "whereis extutils" and press "Enter." The location of "extutils" will be displayed on the system console.
