How to Wire a Pacifica DVD

Wiring a DVD player for a Chrysler Pacifica seems too intimidating for many people to try, but the truth of the matter is that the process is not as complex as it sounds. The DVD player is powered by existing wires from the overhead dome light, so the process of installing an overhead Pacifica DVD player does not require you to install any additional wires to your vehicle, and all the steps can be completed with common household tools.

Wedge the flat screwdriver between the ceiling and the base of the overhead light on the ceiling of the vehicle. Wiggle the screwdriver around to loosen up the connection. Remove the light from the ceiling nook. Unplug the wire harness and tuck it into the ceiling.

Hold the mounting bracket of the DVD mount up over the ceiling hole and trace the around the bracket with a utility knife to cut the vehicle's ceiling headliner. Remove the bracket and discard the headliner. Pull the wire harness from the ceiling hole and insert it through the center opening of the bracket, push the bracket up the wires to the ceiling.

Use a drill with a machine tap drill bit to drill a hole in each corner of the bracket. Continue drilling into the ceiling but do not drill through the ceiling. A machine tap drill bit creates threaded holes that work with the mounting screws. Insert the mounting screws through each hole of the bracket and tighten into the ceiling with a Phillips screwdriver. Plug the wire harness into the DVD player and slide the player onto the bracket until it locks into place.
