Fix Big Shoes

Having the right-fitting shoes can have an impact on your posture and health. When it comes to buying shoes for some, fashion is usually the determining factor. A great-looking pair of pumps, for example, often can become a must-have at the expense of comfort, and some would purchase the shoes even when they are a little larger than their regular sizes. Once you have those big shoes, you need the right fix to wear them properly, as they can create foot ailments such as blisters, calluses and bruising. You can make your big shoes fit comfortably without sacrificing fashion.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase insoles and heel and toe cushions. You can buy them from most shoe stores, supermarkets and pharmacies. You also can find a large selection from online stores.

    • 2

Insert the insoles in each shoe. The insoles come in rubber and fabric, and you can find them in a large variety of sizes. Choose full insoles as they are large and will fill up the shoes and provide some cushioning on the sides.

    • 3

Place the adhesive heel cushions inside the back of each shoe. Make sure you stick the heel pads very close to the edge. When the heels are the problem, it usually means the shoes are a little too long and need heel and toe pads. The heel cushions will prevent your shoes from slipping up and down when you walk.

Apply the toe cushions in the upper inside front of both shoes. Your shoes will fit comfortably with very little space for your feet to move around.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use thick socks if possible and combine them with insoles to make your big shoes fit.
